Not gonna lie—as someone who knows very little about tea, I mostly just picked this one because the name sounded really cool. But I’m glad that I did! It’s a very dark, high-quality tea that reminded me of mate that I had once—it is very earthy and has a mineral taste to it, but also a little bit on the fruity side?

I don’t know how to describe it, but it tasted great. It has just enough kick to get my morning started, but doesn’t sit as heavy in my stomach as coffee tends to. After discovering this tea, I might just switch over entirely. (Posted on 9/23/2015)

Before I discuss this tea, I want to start off by saying that I am not a fan of oolong teas in general. However, a friend bought this for me as a birthday gift along with a few other varieties and I decided to give it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a very full-bodied tea with a nice balance of fruity and floral notes, and an almost charcoal aftertaste. Very earthy. Depending on how long you steep it, it can also be a bit spicy, so be aware if that’s not your personal preference. Overall, I’m very pleased with it and might consider buying it again in the future.
