Shui Hsien Tea

Just to clarify, I know almost nothing about teas—so when I first received this order and saw black, shriveled up leaves, I thought something was horribly wrong! I called customer service and they were absolutely wonderful, explaining to me that this was natural for the variety I ordered. I was still skeptical when I brewed my first cup, but let me just say—I’m completely sold now! It’s got the most amazing rich honey flavor, and tastes slightly earthy but not at all burnt or peaty like I was expecting. It’s dense and has a very slight fermented taste—great for drinking with meals, as I find it helps my digestion considerably.
